1. AI & Human Content Disclaimer
The Afro Caribbean Directory utilizes a combination of human curation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to generate, summarize, and categorize business listings. While we strive for excellence, we do not warrant that the information is accurate, complete, or current. We are not responsible for "hallucinations" (AI-generated errors), typos, or outdated business data (prices, addresses, or opening hours).
2. No Liability & Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Afro Caribbean Directory, its owners, and operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. This includes, but is not limited to, unsatisfactory services provided by listed businesses, financial loss, or personal disputes between users and vendors.
3. Third-Party Listings
We do not endorse or verify the licenses, insurance, or professional standing of the businesses listed. Users are strictly advised to perform their own due diligence before hiring or purchasing from any entity found within this directory.
4. Data Protection & Privacy (GDPR/UK DPA)
We take your privacy seriously. In accordance with data protection laws:
- Data Collection: we only collect data provided voluntarily (e.g., via our Stripe DD portal or contact forms).
- Usage: Your data is used strictly for subscription management and service updates. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- Payment Security: Financial data is handled exclusively by Stripe. We do not store credit card or bank account details on our servers.
5. Subscription & Cancellation
Paid "Featured Spotlights" are billed as recurring subscriptions. Users may cancel their Direct Debit at any time via their Stripe portal or by contacting customer services. Refunds for partial months are not provided unless required by law.
6. Right to Terminate
We reserve the right to remove any listing that is deemed fraudulent, offensive, or contrary to the community values of the Afro Caribbean Directory without prior notice.
